The biggest variable is the subfloor: a flat, dry slab needs little work, while an uneven one needs grinding and levelling.

Clean hard floors with a damp mop and a pH-neutral cleaner, use felt pads under furniture, and avoid steam mops on hybrid and timber. Close blinds during the harshest afternoon sun to reduce colour change, and wipe up water promptly on timber.

    Costs vary depending on the product and area size. As a general guide for supply and install on the Gold Coast in 2026: carpet from $40–70 per square metre, vinyl plank from $55–90 per m², hybrid flooring from $70–120 per m², and timber flooring from $110–200 per m².     Most single-room or small residential jobs are completed in one day. Whole-home installations typically take 2–3 days depending on total area and flooring type. We give you a specific timeframe when we visit for your free measure and quote — not a vague estimate.

    It depends on the existing surface and the product going on top. Hybrid and vinyl plank can go over concrete slabs that are level and in good condition, and over firmly bonded tiles once they are prepared: a skim coat of levelling compound for hybrid, or a full flood coat for vinyl plank. Old carpet, vinyl and floating floors are lifted before new carpet goes down, but carpet can be laid over firmly bonded, flat tiles on a quality underlay. Timber installation depends on the subfloor type. We assess your existing floor at the quote stage and advise you clearly before any work begins.

Vinyl plank flooring suits many Gold Coast homes because it is 100% waterproof, won't warp or swell in humidity, and handles temperature swings without moving. Carpet remains the preferred choice for bedrooms. Engineered timber suits premium homes and performs better than solid timber in Queensland conditions. We'll recommend the right product for each room when we visit.

    Both are waterproof and low-maintenance, but hybrid has a rigid stone-composite core that makes it firmer underfoot, more dimensionally stable, and better suited to uneven subfloors. Standard vinyl plank is more flexible and slightly lower cost.
